Sheffield Daily Telegraph – Monday 07 December 1903
Doncaster Rovers 1 Denaby United 1
At Doncaster, in thick fog, before a small attendance, Denaby kicked off, and scored early on.
Doncaster retaliated, and after a little play secured a couple of corners, from the second of which Roberts scored a splendid goal.
Fairly even play followed, Doncaster pressing at one period of the game, and obtaining four corners, but the Denaby goalkeeper saved.
After the interval play continued even for some time, and then Denaby attacked, and Dyal sent in a smart shot, but Longworth kicked away.
Holmes saved, and later the ball struck the Rovers’ bar, and bounded off.
The players were almost entirely obscured by fog, and the spectators followed the game from the line. Denaby broke away several times, but failed to alter the score, and the game ended:—Doncaster Rovers, 1 goal; Denaby United, 1 goal.
