Almost Complete Playing Area Can Now Be Illuminated
Denaby United Buy Four More Floodlights for the “Square”

Prospects are looking brighter for Denaby United. Last week the club made major additions to the flood-lighting system at Tickhill Square, and on Tuesday week, players turned out for their first practice under the new lights.

Two seasons ago the Supporters’ Club installed three flood-lights along the main stand, but these only illuminated sufficient playing area for a “kick around.”

Now the club has purchased a further four flood-lights at the cost of £50, which they have erected on the far side of the ground—illuminating almost the complete playing area.

Mr. Arthur Roberts, the Denaby secretary-manager, said this week that the sudden lapse in the United’s form, must to a certain degree be put down to the inability of the club to stage full-scale mid-week practices during the winter months.

Now, with sufficient parts of the ground illuminated to enable such practices to be held, officials and supporters are hoping the United will recapture the glittering form they showed earlier in the season.
