At Gainsborough, yesterday. The match was a personal triumph for Alan Hall the Trinity centre forward,, who showed fine shorting form to register five of his side’s goats. Only brilliant goalkeeping prevented him increasing his score.

The hero the match of Birkhead, Denaby’s goalkeeper, who played brilliantly throughout and saved his charge on many occasion when threatened by all the Gainsborough forwards.

Hall scored after 10 minutes and Denaby equalised when Archer, Trinity’s right back, rut through his own goal in attempting to clear. This was all the scoring in the first half.

In the second portion Denaby were worn down by Trinity clever attack and Hall raced through their defence on four occasions to score is own total of goals to five. Trinity’s other scorer was Ramshaw.

Birkhead. the Denaby goalkeeper, was twice knocked out; once in a collision with the post and later with Hall, but he pluckily carried on and earned a great ovation at the end. This

For Trinity, Hall was the outstanding player and he also in Sadler (O.) and Twells stood out. For Denaby Happs and Sherwin played well in defence, and Betts was a lively leader
