Brilliant Goalkeeping

Dungworth Outstanding for Denaby

Denaby returned to winning ways with a good win at Grimethorpe. A feature of the match was the brilliant goalkeeping of Dungworth (Denaby), and his quickness and good judgment had a lot to do with his team’s win.

Denaby took the lead through COOKSON, who, unattended, scored an easy goal. Less scientific, but persistent. Grimethorpe equalised through WRIGHT, following good work by Hepworth and Griffiths. A minute later Denaby regained the lead. COOKSON scoring from a Langford-Dixon movement. Denaby should have gone but Cookson failed to convert a penalty. ARDRON, from a pass from Dixon, made the issue safe for Denaby. Rovers tried hard to reduce the lead. Dungworth being well tested by Wright. Platt and Griffiths. The Denaby defence held out.

Cookson, Ardron, Haigh, Dungworth and Gibbes, who stood out in ball control, were prominent for the winners. For Grimethorpe. Hepworth, Horner, Haigh and Wright played well.
