Harry Siddall

There can be few wingers playing in Midland League football just now better than Harry Siddall, Denaby’s outside-right, and it is increasingly surprising that he remains with the local club.
He was very carefully watched by a number of League club representatives last season but nothing definite was arranged, I believe, because it was thought that he lacked that little extra bit of dash which makes all the difference between the ordinary and the first-class player. He was certainly inclined to be nervous in the face of uncompromising defensive methods but he has quite got rid of this tendency now and has been giving spirited displays in almost every match.
Very fast, and with a terrific shot in either foot, Siddall is ideally equipped with the requirements of modern wing play. His “hat trick” against South Kirkby on Saturday was one of the finest performances I have seen on the football field this season. It was a “hat trick” in the real sense—three goals in three consecutive shots—and was completed within the space of ten minutes.
Nor is Siddall the only Denaby player who seems thoroughly ripe for the transfer market. The form shown by Skelton, the left full-back, in the last few matches has singled him out as a back of real ability. It is not often that speed, agility and size are so well combined in one player as they are in Skelton. He is very quick in recovery, forceful in a tackle, and can kick strongly with either foot.
