Another Heavy Defeat for Denaby.
Huddersfield Town Reserves 8 Denaby United 1
After a one sided game Huddersfield yesterday, Denaby United were defeated by the Town Reserves in a Midland League match. In spite of the goals which were piled up against them them with almost monotonous regularity, Denaby played a dogged and vigorous game.
In mitigation of their failure, it should stated that they were faced by a team in which four members had recently appeared in Huddersfield Town’s Second League side. The home’ side were undoubtedly superior in all departments, but on least four occasions the Denaby attack was dangerous.
For Huddersfield, Pognam, the centre forward, scored six goals, and Taylor and Fayers one each. About midway through the second half Denaby forced a corner, and Dodsley put beautiful shot close in, which Mutch failed hold. In the melee the ball rebounded from Lusher into the net. Thus was scored the only goal for Denaby.
