Denaby’s Creditable Draw.
Leicester Fosse Reserves 2 Denaby United 2
When one considers that Leicester Posse were practically playing a first team, all but two of their eleven having played in League engagements this season, Denaby United’s performance drawing at Leicester on Saturday was excellent.
Entirely undismayed by the formidable character of the opposition, Denaby set about their task with commendable pluck. Their rushes were at all times dangerous, and in 25 minutes they had the satisfaction of standing two goals clear.
There was an element of luck about the first, for the hesitation of the Leicester goalkeeper enabled Hartley and Robinson to rush the ball through. The second was good goal from corner, Bisby getting his head to it splendidly.
Just before the interval, Goldie reduced the adverse lead, but it took Fosse right to the closing phases of the game, for Donnelley to divide the points. Hartley was the pick of the resolute, if somewhat unpolished. Denaby forward line; Kelly the best of a hard-working set of halves; while the backs, Swinbourne and Welsh, got through a lot of hard work with great credit.
