Denaby Defeat.
Weakened Team a Goal Down at Lincoln.
(Lincoln City Reserve1, Denaby United 0)
Denaby United played their second match this week at Lincoln, on Wednesday, and were beaten by one goal to none. Under the circumstances it was a good performance to run the Lincoln side to such a close result.
Denaby were weakened by the absence of Kilner, Pearson and Rhodes, Dean, Bloxham and Brown deputised. Lincoln turned out a very strong side, including some of the first team players.
Most of the game was very even, and no goal was scored in the first half. A misunderstanding by the Denaby defence let in Ball, the home outside-left, and PANTHER scored from close range. Afterwards Lincoln attacked heavily, but found themselves up against a very fine defence.
