Lincoln City Reserves 6 Denaby United 2
Although the score of 6—2 registered by Lincoln City Reserves against Denaby United in a Midland League match last night suggests that the game was one-sided, such was not the case.
Lincoln’s forwards were opportunists, whereas the Denaby attack was somewhat slow, and many good scoring chances were missed. In spite of the score, Denaby were always triers, and had a good share of the game. Brannon was the hero, and his magnificent saves evoked much applause. Gilchrist, who was a forceful leader, obtained Denaby’s first goal with delightful shot, while the second came from Hines, who was consistently good.
The Lincoln scorers were Keetley (three), including a penalty, R. Thursby, Atkinson, and Murray.
