Denaby’s Biggest Defeat
Nine Goals at Loughborough

Loughborough 6 Denaby United 3

Denaby tried out a new centre forward, a Swinton amateur from Roma Terrace athletic, named Mace, at Loughborough on Saturday on the forward gave an improved display.

The game was the best played on the Loughborough ground this season, and though Denaby were beaten by a three-goal margin in a game of nine goals, they certainly did not have an impression of a team who have struck a bad patch.

Had not Loughborough pulled out rather better form than they had shown in preceding weeks they would have found Denaby very difficult to hold.

Both Mace and Wadsworth, the other newcomer to Midland League football, scored four Denaby, Eggleshaw got the other.

Loughborough scored six goals in a match for the third time this season, they got their goals through Cleverly, Cramp and Hallam, each of whom scored two.

The score is a heaviest made against the Denaby defence this season.
