Denaby United Give the Champions a Good Game.
The visitors at Mansfield last night gave the crowd of 5,000 a fright, as for the first hour Denaby United were quite as good as, if not better than, the champions; but subsequently Mansfield overwhelmed them, and for the last twenty minutes the Denaby defence was fully extended.
Mansfield won 4—2. Kay opened the scoring in the first two minutes for Mansfield, but Riley immediately equalised, and at half-time each side had scored once. n the resumption Kay again put Mansfield in front, but Breakwell again brought the scores level.
After 65 minutes Staniforth scored a third for Mansfield, and a brilliant fourth just before the end.
