Mansfield dominated the game almost throughout, and were well worth their four goals’ victory.
The Denaby forwards made poor use of what few chances came their way, but although the score was heavily against them, Williams was the best full-back on the field. Sherwin at centre half-back, also did well.
Hodgetts opened the scored 10 minutes before the interval, and later, playing at inside-left, was the outstanding forward.
