Although they were beaten by seven goals to none in their match with Nottingham Forest Res. at Nottingham, yesterday, Denaby United played quite well at times and it was sheer ill fortune that prevented them scoring the first goal, Barratt fisting out a shot from Machin that must have gone through, whilst Orme saved from the penalty.
Forest, however, were great opportunists, and improved as play went on. Bedford scored two fine goals before converting a penalty just on half-time, when Forest led 3-0.
In the second half, Davis, Bedford (after having one disallowed’ for off-side), Lowe, and Donovan scored further goals for Forest.
