Denaby Defeat Strong Notts County Team.
Notts County Reserves 0 Denaby United 1
Apart from lively ball, which puzzled the players somewhat, the conditions were excellent for Notts County Reserves and Denaby United Meadow Lane yesterday.
The County paid tribute Denaby by playing an exceptionally strong side, but they had the worst of the opening play, and were goal down in a quarter-of-an hour, Kelley shooting into an empty goal after Robertson had made two saves.
Denaby’s go-ahead methods were a rare foil to the more finished style of the County, and they were the more aggressive before the interval, but in the second half they were forced concentrate on defence, and played the part so well that Notts could not get through, Denaby winning by one goal to none.
