Notts County Reserves 3  Denaby United 1

Denaby United had little change out of Notts County reserves at Meadow Lane inside his Midland league match, I was only two minutes and then that Blood, reserve centre forward, playing his first match with the Midland league side, got their only goal in reply to 3 from County reserves

The quick-moving attack put top weight on the Denaby defence and GILLESPIE put County Reserves ahead in the 35th minute with a lovely goal. The pattern was pretty much the same in the second half and GILLESPIE  (65 minutes) and HARVEY (81 minutes) had scored before BLOOD got Denaby’s consolation goal.

Briggs Sports, one of three Sheffield Association League sides to have taken a point from unbeaten  Denaby reserves, were beaten 3-0 at Tickhill Square on Saturday.

Denaby, weakened by first team calls and notably by the absence of Blood, were held to a goalless first half, though they were putting on the pressure towards half-time. FLAHERTY (2) and JOWETT maintained their unbeaten record with goals in the second half, and inflicted Briggs’ first League defeat.
