Nottingham County Reserves Finish The Season Well.
Notts Reserves 3 goals. Denaby United 2 goals.
The Notts Midland League programme was successfully wound up on the Meadow Lane ground, Nottingham, yesterday, before a fair attendance.
Notts played with the wind, and for some minutes attacked vigorously, but at length got going, and Lang scored from dose range at the end of 15 minutes. Four minutes later the same forward netted for a second time. Notts played up afterwards, but could make impression until the game had been in progress 25 minutes, and then Grice gave Walker a nice pass, from which he easily scored.
After another seven minutes Jones scored the equaliser, and the same player headed a third goal only two minutes later.
Half time: Notts Reserves, 3: Denaby United. 2.
Notts did most of the pressing in the second half, and early a beautiful left foot shot from Jones struck the crossbar. Play quietened down somewhat afterwards, until Grice was presented with a nice opening, only to shoot wide, with the keeper out of his goal. Nothing further happened, and the whistle blew with the score:
Notts Reserves 3 goals. United 2 goals.
