Denaby’s Happy Hunting Ground

Peterborough 3 Denaby United 3

Denaby United put up a remarkable performance at Peterborough, which seems to be their happy hunting ground.

They included two new players, C. Asquith and McLean. Asquith, who was at right half, is a brother of Fred Asquith, who was also playing. McLean, outside left, hails from Scotland, and came out “tops,” especially in the second half.

Denaby got a couple of shocks in the first seven minutes when they found themselves two goals down in a heavy ground.

After the interval they had the game well in hand and in the early stages Moseley had hard luck when he hit the bar from 20 yards out. They equalised and a ding dong struggle ensued before Peterborough scored, but much to their surprise Denaby were on level terms within the next minute.

Hindley (2) and Moseley scored Denaby’s goals.

Denaby are away to Grimsby tomorrow.
