Denaby, who are the only team to take a point from. R.A.S.C. had to field a weakened team for the return game at Sandygate. This was due to 3 players not be able to turn up and at the last-minute the team had to be completed with local juniors. However, Denaby did very well.

The R.A.S.C.team included several first division players. Only the superior stamina and constant training of the soldiers won them the game.

In the first half Denaby were as good as their opponents, and after 20 minutes took a deserved lead through Hyde.
