Denaby Defeated At Rotherham.

Rotherham Town  4  Denaby United  2

Denaby United visit to Clifton Lane yielded an interesting encounter encounter.

Denaby introduced Dyal at inside right. The Town had the advantage in the first half, although their opponents, as a result of an effort by Dodsley were the first to score.

Rotherham, after this made the pace warm, and Thompson had plenty to do, along with his backs (Jackson and Swinbourne) to keep them in check. Wright eventually got his chance to equalise, and Waldron a little later followed with another goal and thus gave his side the lead.

The resumption saw Denaby make several dangerous rushes. At the other end, a lovely pass from Pace was taken by Wright, and a further point followed.

As a result of some clever manoeuvring, Dyal drove the ball past the home custodian.

It seemed possible that the game might end with honours even. 10 minutes before the end, however (when Dodsley retired hurt), Waldron put the issue beyond all possible doubt.
