Sheffield Club 1 Denaby United 4

At Wadsley on Monday evening. Denaby were the better at the start, and should have scored early on, Torr missing a good opening. Five minutes later Hosey scored.

The Club made the United go all the way, and once had the ball in the neck, though after the whistle had gone for offside.

The home forwards got right down, and with Hancock out of his goal Beaumont equalised.

When Denaby advanced again, Lavery shot over from close in, and both Potts and Tuycker were responsible for good clearances. At length Torr scored a second goal.

On resuming the Club got away, and Simpson shot against the right, with Hancock going full length

After about 20 minutes play Torr and Rosie circumvented Pots close in, for the former scoring the third goal.
Just before the end Lawley added to his side’s lead with a penalty kick, while Arnold struck the upright.
