Sheffield United Reserves  2  Denaby United  0

Denaby United, who were so severely beaten by Wednesday Reserves a week ago, appeared at Bramall Lane in the same competition against United Reserves. They again met with defeat, but on this occasion they were far from being disgraced.

Of course, under the circumstances, good football was out of the question, and although the visitors had the assistance of the hurricane in the first half, they failed to turn this advantage to any material account. They were below the class of the United halves, of whom Hogg, although out of position, was the pick.

But even his form was hardly as clever as that of Nimrod, on the Denaby side. He is a really hard-working player, and time after time got his defence out of difficulties. Lang and Donnelly again got on well together, and this was the wing which proved most troublesome to the visitors.

Massey again kept goal well.
