Quite 1500 spectators witnessed this game, so keen was rivalry between the teams. Denaby  at once became aggressive and obtained fruitless corner.

Was cut away from the kick-off, and after obtaining a fruitless corner, obtain a second from which Kettleborough headed through a fine centre by Wingross.

Denaby then broke away and the home custodian was called upon to handle. A fast game followed into the interval without the score being altered.

Resuming Lincoln scored for Wath. Walton headed over the bar by inches at the pole opposite end, and after good combination Blower, by a  single ended effort from the halfway line – a tricky piece of work – added a third.

It was Wath’s “day out” again, and the visitors failed to penetrate Sylvester’s impregnable charge. But it was not the fault of the visitors. The home custodian and a lot of work to do, and, as is his wont, did it smartly and well.
