Denaby Go Down at Wath.
Wath Athletic 4 Denaby United 0
Wath Athletic secured two more points on Saturday at the expense of Denaby United, who lost by four clear goals at Wath.
The game was of a one-sided character, but Denaby fought hard in the first half with a scratch team. Walker, the Denahy goalkeeper, gave a remarkable display.
The visitor’s full-backs, Taylor and Marshall, were also in good form, but were both injured, Marshall leaving the field. Spencer was the pick of the visitor’s forwards, but was selfish.
There was not a flaw in the home team. Sylvester had to save only about four times. Gough and Drew were great; they were tested pretty well in the first half, but dealt confidently with every attack. The half-back line was good, and the forwards played one of the best games that has been witnessed on the Wath ground this season.
Hunter (2) and Vaughan (2) scored.
