A Hat-Trick for Denaby
Wath Wanderers lost at home to Denaby 3-2 on Saturday.
Wath opened strongly, and Davies raced through the Denaby defence and centred for Jackman to head through. A pass from Raynor sent Vickers away. His shot was not cleared and Helliwell evened the score. Helliwell scored again a few minutes later. A miskick by Roebuck let him through, and he beat Fenton from close in. Jackson, receiving from Morgan, beat two opponents, and crossed to Davies who scored for Wath, but Helliwell got the winner, beating Fenton with a low shot to complete his hat-trick.
It was a good, even game, with Newey and Shepherd for Denaby, and Jackman and Morgan for Wath, outstanding.
