Denaby’s Setback
Hard Luck at Owlerton

Wednesday Reserve 3   Denaby United 0

After a brilliant run of success, Denaby United went to Owlerton on Saturday, and were beaten by Wednesday reserve, whom they beat in the home engagement. The game was an excellent one throughout, and was by no means entirely in favour of the victors.

About 2000 people were present.

Half-time arrived with a blank scoresheet.

After 25 minutes play Wednesday scored through Miller, who beat Hancock with a good ground shot. The Denaby goal then had several narrow escapes until eight minutes from the end Rawlinson was left in a splendid addition from the centre by Tomlinson and he added a second goal. Miller shot a third, following good work by Bolland.

Wednesday had the best of matters to the end.
