In the game at Owlerton between Wednesday Reserves and Denaby United, the home team had three newcomers on view, and of those most interest was taken in McSkimming, the new Scottish back. He proved to be a rare defender, simply revelling in work and making no mistakes.
The other recruits were Parks (outside – right) and Shepherd (centre – forward) but little was seen of either.
Denaby United who have a grand centre-half in Kelley, did well to effect a division of points.
