F.A. Cup.
Unusual Experience For Denaby.
Wombwell 5 Denaby 1
Denaby United met with an unusual experience when they were put out of the F.A. Cup in the preliminary round by Wombwell, who beat them by 5 —1.
Wombwell won the toss, and with the wind and sun in their favour were two goals up at the interval, Brayshaw, once a Denaby player, and Crownshaw scoring.
Crownshaw, Hutchinson, and Raynor added further goals in the second half, and Green scored for Denaby.
Wombwell were much the better balanced side, and only Riley of the Denaby forwards was up to his usual form.
