Denaby Vicar and Mother Make 150-lbs. of Jam

The Vicar of Denaby, the Rev. Fred Herrington, and his mother, of Mrs. I. N. Herrington, have over the past six or seven weeks spent a large part of their spare time, making jam—they have filled about a 150 one lb. jars with blackberry, plum, blackcurrant and strawberry a jam to raise funds for the church.

At a sale in Denaby they have already sold about 100 lbs. of jam but they have not given up the effort yet.

Some of the fruit used for the jam making was picked from the Vicarage orchard and the rest was bought. When a “South Yorkshire Times” reporter called at the Vicarage this week Mrs. Herrington was still busy making jam.
