Denaby Wanderers  1 Conisborough  3

A football match between Denaby Wanderers and Conisborough was played at Denaby on Saturday before a crowd of between 200 and 300 spectators. Humphries, the home captain, won the toss and chose to play downhill.

Shortly before half-time, Jones scored the first goal for Denaby. Although the home side maintained constant pressure, Hardy’s excellent goalkeeping prevented the Wanderers from scoring again, and the teams reached the interval with Denaby leading 1–0.

Just before the break Hardy was brought to the ground by four opponents attempting to tackle him, but he managed to evade them all.

In the second half the play became more evenly contested until Keys scored for Conisborough. The visiting side then added a second goal, and Woods followed with a third shortly before the referee, Mr. S. Allerton, blew the final whistle.

The match ended with Conisborough 3 goals and Denaby Wanderers 1 goal.
