Diamond Jubilee
What are we going to do in Conisborough in celebrating the Diamond Jubilee of the Queen?
The 20th of June falls this year upon a Sunday, so that the special service can be used for the Queens Accession; and that Sunday morning we shall see the members of the parish council, and members of the school board, both with their respective clerks, the members of the Fire Brigade, and the various lodges, Sunday school teachers and scholars.. And the procession headed by the Conisborough brass band and the members of the Church lads Brigade.
No doubt the local reporters will be able to write columns of this date when it comes and its dealings, but let us think about others.
What are the children to have and old people in the village? Something must be done for them.
Let us, if possible surpass our generosity of 1887, and have a write-down good blowout, accompanied with fireworks and other amusements.
