Disappearance of Mr. W. P. Holmes, of Mexbro’

Much interest was taken yesterday in a rumour which was widely circulated to the effect that Mr. William P. Holmes, clerk to the Barnbro’, Conisbro’, Swinton, and Mexbro’ School Boards, had disappeared from his residence, Albert Place, Mexbro’. Mr. Holmes left his home on Friday last, and departed by train from Mexbro’, but his destination is not known.

Yesterday, at a meeting of the Mexbro’ School Board, on the proposition of Dr. Sykes, seconded by Mr. Tivas, it was decided that Mr. Holmes be dismissed from his post as clerk, and that Mr. Lee be the clerk pro tem. The resolution was carried unanimously.
