Discharged for Idleness
At Nottingham County Court, William Thomas, miner, of 8, Balby Street, Conisborough claimed 15s. 3d. a week as compensation from March 4, 1908, the date on which he was dismissed from his work for alleged inattention to October 31, from the Denaby and Cadeby Main Company.
The defence was given the chance of earning as much as he could before an accident, but had been discharged through idleness.
The case was ultimately settled by the defendant defendants undertaking to reinstate Thomas on his promising to pay proper attention to work, and receiving sensation from March up to Saturday, and neither side to have costs.
