A Disgraceful Offence
A Denaby miner, named Harry Womack, was summoned for having been drunk in charge of a child, aged three years at Conisborough on 17th of April.
PC Wailes stated that he was on duty at 2:30 PM on 17th of April in Denaby Road, New Conisborough, when he saw the defendant staggering about in a very drunken condition. He was carrying a child and saw him knock it down, and then fall down himself.
The child when picked up was bleeding from the nose and the mouth, and was also suffering from a cut on the left thumb.
PC Horton gave corroborative evidence and the defendant was fined 20/- inclusive.
