The Dispute At Denaby Main Colliery.
This dispute, which has continued for some time, came before the council meeting at Barnsley yesterday. It will be remembered that the men have been out for some weeks on account of a dispute between the masters and the checkweighman.
It was decided yesterday to make a grant to Marsland, the man in question, so that he can go into business, and vacate his post.
A similar course was adopted some years ago when the checkweighman at Silkstone Fall Colliery had £50 given to him on account of a dispute, and caused him to leave. It is very probable that the men resume work this week.
