Mr Chappell Intervenes
Last week the committee of the Denaby Main Lodge waited upon Mr Chappell, asking him if he had any objection to uses best efforts to bring about a settlement of the dispute.
To the surprise of many, notwithstanding what has passed between the men and Mr Chappell, the latter consented to do his best to obtain an interview with the company with a view of bringing about a settlement.
An interview was obtained, and the whole matter discussed with Mr Chambers, the manager.
On Wednesday Mr Chappell having interview with Mr Buckingham Pope, along with Mr Edward Pope and Mr Chambers, the manager.
It was arranged at 65 colliers commence work on Thursday morning with 65 trammers, the other is to be engaged in due course.
