District Food Supply

A considerable improvement in the supply of cattle, but they were for the most part hardly up to the fat stock class, the supply consisting of 151 beasts and 169 sheep, which was 51 beasts more than last: week, but 100 fewer sheep. In carrying out the allotment there were 19 beasts and 27 sheep allotted to Doncaster borough, Rotherham secured 30 beasts and 32′ sheep, Sheffield 28 beasts and 50 sheep Barnsley 16 beasts and 6 sheep, and Huddersfield 4 beasts and 9 sheep.

The villages outside Doncaster borough each secured a proportion, and Mexborough got 4 beasts and 4 sheep, Denaby, Conisbro’, and Barmbro’ 5 beasts and 3 sheep, and Askern, Adwick-le-Street and Woodlands 3 beasts and 3 sheep
