Disturbances At Mexboro’ And Denaby.
Councillor’s Window Broken.
George Bond, a Denaby miner, was fined 15s. At Donacster on Tuesday for using violent language at Mexborough.
It was stated he took his coat off and wanted to fight the police. He shouted about ‘these – uniformed men’ and appealed to a crowd which had collected to ‘do him in.’
The defendant denied the offence but admitted he said the uniformed men were the only ones he was afraid of.
When he asked if he could appeal against the conviction the Chairman (Mr. John Dymond) said he had got off very lightly and they would allow him a month to pay.
