Doncaster Police Cases

lsaac Slater, glass hand, Mexborough, for kicking a horse in the Cadeby pit on the 10th March, was fined 20s. and 18s. costs.

Enoch Whitehead, miner, Denaby Main, was fined 20s. and Tom Mallody, trammer, Denaby Main, was ordered to pay the costs, 19s. 6d., both for endangering the lives of persons in the Cadeby pit.

Geo. Hy. Sowden, of Denaby Main, was fined 5s. and costs, and Samuel Bird, of New Conisborough, was fined 2s. 6d. and costs, for driving corves in the Cadeby pit without back stays.

Peter Clark, glass hand, Mexborough, was sent to prison for a month for breaking windows at Denaby Main.

It was stated that window-breaking occurred almost daily
