Doncaster Races

Many collieries in the South Yorkshire district were “playing” yesterday on account of the Doncaster races.

The recent strike of the miners does not appear to have absorbed all their spare money. Several of the pits, including Denaby, will have their day oft to-day.

Owing a slight mishap at the Cadeby Colliery a few days ago, when the drum of the winding gear became damaged, the pit has been idle since that time, but it is hoped that the damage will be made good in few days so that work can once more be in full swing.
