Drowned While Bathing At Denaby.

Yesterday afternoon James Guy, aged eight years, son of a miner, was drowned while bathing in the river Don at Denaby.

Three companions, named Richard Wilks, aged 9: William Pearson, aged 10; and Dennis Oats, aged 11 years, were in the water at the same time, and from their statements it would appear Guy slipped out his depth. Willis called for help, and Thomas Hiil, aged 15, who was the bank, endeavored to effect a rescue, but was unsuccessful.

The body was got out forty minutes afterwards.
