Drunk and Disorderly

At Doncaster on Monday William Newton Wilson, glasshand and Mark Gleadall, blacksmith, both of Conisborough were charged with being drunk and disorderly on the previous Saturday evening at New Conisborough.

Wilson, who pleaded not guilty, was fined 1s. and 6/6 costs, and Gleadall, who pleaded guilty, was fined 9s, including costs.

Enoch Stonehouse, miner, Denaby, was charged with being drunk and disorderly and assaulting the police.

P.c. Thompson said the defendant, was kicking a man named Speight. Prisoner got hold of witness and threw him down, the result being that one of his trousers’ knees was cut and his knee injured.—P.c. Duffin corroborated.

For drunken and disorderly conduct prisoner was fined 2/6 and costs, or seven days, and for assaulting the constable 10s. and costs or 21 days’ imprisonment.
