Drunkenness
Charles Rice, labourer, Mexborough, was charged with having been drunk at Conisborough on 29th May.
Police sergeant Ambler said he found Rice lying helplessly drunk on the highway on the Sunday named at Conisborough.
Police constable Truman corroborated.
Find 20s including costs.
James Oliver, miner, Denaby was charged with having been drunk and disorderly at Conisborough the night of Saturday, 28 May.
Police constable Truman proved the case.
The defendant pleaded guilty, and said he was very sorry to appear at the court; it was the first time he had been summoned. He was ordered to pay the costs, 17s, or go to prison for seven days.
