Drunkenness at a Mexboro’ Club House
Jas. Degnall, collier, Denaby, was charged with being drunk in Hirst-gate, Mexboro’, on Sunday, the 7th inst.
Police-sergeant Gunn deposed that at twenty-five minutes past one o’clock on the Sunday morning in question he saw the defendant, who had just left the Club-house in Hirst-gate, in a drunken condition.
Inspector Beevers said the man had been at the house all night, drinking.—Fined 2s. 6d. and 13s. costs.
Patrick Comer, labourer, of Denaby, was likewise charged with being drunk on the same day.
Police-constable Bellerby proved the case, which was similar to the first one, and a like fine, with costs, was inflicted.
Martin Sheridan, labourer, Denaby, who did not appear, was also charged with drunkenness.
Police-sergeant Gunn proved the case, stating that the defendant, with a number of other men, left the Club-house much the worse for liquor.
Fined 5s. and 13s. costs.
