Dutch Cruise

Selling agricultural machinery has its rewards, as Conisbro’ couple Carol and Colin Lamb can vouch for – for next week they set out on a weekend cruise to Holland, courtesy of the Chapeltown firm John I. Fearn Ltd.

Colin is a sales rep. for the firm, and his work mainly covers the Nottingham area.  Last year he was runner up in a competition among salesmen at the firm’s Sheffield, Workshop and Bakewell branches, and the Dutch cruise is his prize for this.

Mr. and Mrs. Lamb of 3 Priory Close, Low Road, will sail from Immingham and their cruise includes a tour of the world-famous bulb fields.  For Colin, based at the Worksop branch, it will be a just reward for his efforts, as he also came second in 1968, when there was no runner-up prize.  This time he just missed the number one spot – and a trip to Majorca.  This year the firm are operating a different system, and a trip to Holland is ensured for the leading salesman, each three months.

One of Colins colleagues at Worksop, Mr. George Harper of Chapeltown, has won the prize for the first quarter.
