Elected an Associate

A former Conisbrough man, Mr George Collin Peck (35) at present branch librarian at Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, has been elected as an Associate of the library Association.

Mr Peck, the son of Mr and Mrs P.J.Peck, of 4 Drakehead Lane, Conisbrough, qualifies after completing the Associations, registration examination consisting of seven 3 hour papers on various techniques of librarianship.

Mr Peck, who is married to a former Doncaster girl, left Mexborough Grammar School at the age of 17, and studied public health at Doncaster Technical College until his National Service, where he served with the R.A.M.C. and completed his training as a Public Health Inspector.

When he left the Army at the age of 21 he began working at Doncaster Public Library until the transfer to Biggleswade some years ago.
