CONISBROUGH URBAN DISTRICT COUNCIL ELECTION

SATURDAY, 2nd APRIL 1932

TO THE ELECTORS 0F THE NORTH WARD

Ladies and Gentlemen, — As a result of representations made to me by a number of Voters in the North Ward. I offer myself for election as your representative on the Conisbrough Urban District Council.

I stand as a Progressive Independent Candidate who has lived amongst you for over 11 years. I am the only Candidate for the North Ward who is now residing in it.

I offer myself in the conviction that I am able to do good service for this Ward on the Council, and that there is need for men with leisure and business training in local administration.

I do not wish to disparage past administration or to belittle the efforts of those who now serve on the Council, but I am satisfied that the habit of considering public questions in a narrow partisan spirit does not make for sound and healthy local government. I seek to represent the whole town and to promote the welfare not only of the North Ward. but of the district as a whole. realising that only by co-operation between one community and another will the fullest possibilities of public health and prosperity be realised. The special problems of the North Ward will, of course, have my close and earnest attention. As a resident of that Ward, and one who is satisfied to live in it, I am eager to do what I can to improve the conditions in which my neighbours dwell. There is scope in this Ward for great improvement, and I beg you to give me a chance to help bring about that improvement. Please give me your confidence and support on Saturday, 2nd April, and I undertake you shall not regret it.

Yours to command,

HERBERT H. WRAY
