Private Ellis, son of Mr and Mrs William Ellis, 24 Melbourne Terrace, the Lightnings, Conisborough died of wounds received in action in France on April 22, aged 18.

He was formerly employed at the Conisborough glassworks.

His brother private G.W.Ellis (K.O.Y.L.I) enlisted at the outbreak of war, was invalided from France and is now serving in Palestine.
