Encouraging

Fifth form pupils at Conisbrough Northcliffe High School will next year be entered for both GCE and CSE examinations, headmaster.

Mr Arthur Young told the school governors. “We as a staff were very encouraged by the results are sheer, as they are the best we have had”, he added. “In fact, the pupils obtained seven O-level passes. Which for 11+ failures is an excellent achievement. We are rather proud as we have been pushing standards and it seems to be paying off.”

Mr Young added that 37 pupils had gone on to the sixth form college at Mexborough this year, and that since GCE was started at the school only six years ago, four former pupils had reached University, and nine more have gone to teachers training colleges.
