Epedemic of Sore Throats Eased by Rain

Steady rain early yesterday was followed by brilliant hot sunshine.

An epidemic of sore throats has occurred at Conlsborough and Denaby owing to the drought, and sufferers heaved a sigh of relief during the week-end when the district had its first real rainfall for nearly three months.

A local doctor said yesterday that he and his partners were being run off their feet attending cases, and a day’s rain would do more good than all the medicine the sufferers could take.
