Evacuees Entertained

On New Year’s Eve, the Conisbrough Urban District Billeting Authority entertained the evacuees billeted in the area. There were about 160 guests, and the excellent programme arranged for their entertainment was thoroughly enjoyed.

The Rev. W. Thynne presided and others present included the Rev. G. Needham, the Rev. F. Herrington, Coun. D. Sheldon (chairman of the Billeting Committee) and members of the W.V.S. who had charge of the refreshments.

In addition to games, there was a concert given by the Wesleyan Sunday school children, which was followed by tea, and before leaving each child was given a small gift.
